Before Christmas I was playing a set including several Christmas songs to promote my Another Christmas EP.

Once Christmas was over, the snow started to come down and still hasn't really stopped over a month later. I realised that there were not many winter songs which could still be sung in January and February, despite Winter not officially starting until 21 December, so I decided to write one.

During a snowstorm on a farm in Wrenbury I thought it would be a nice idea to go out onto the fields and play the song. Sometimes you just gotta sing in the snow!

Lizard Skin (live at The Blue Cat Cafe)

The fifth of twelve downloads is a previously unseen video recording of Lizard Skin taken from a show I performed with Dan Logan in November at The Blue Cat Cafe in Stockport.

The recorded version of Lizard Skin features quite a lot of instruments including violin, viola, drums, guitars, bass and vocals from myself and Thea Gilmore. This version is much more stripped down and acoustic, just me on guitar and vocals and Dan joining in with a bongo cahon, Logran and other assorted percussion.

It's Christmas! Dayve and Chill performed a Christmas set at The Box Christmas Party in Crewe on 18 December and here's the final song from the show, a cover of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's Happy Xmas (War Is Over).

It's a song which we performed with the full band last Christmas and have revived it this year with for the new line up, excluding Dan who is away on tour with Thea Gilmore.

16 Again is a new song and this live version was recorded on 24 September 2009 at The Box in Crewe, playing support for Doll & the Kicks. I'm performing with Dan Logan and Carl 'Chill' Hill as James and the Giant.

The song is really a work in progress which I will probably add to at some point. This was the first time we'd played the song as a band, and also the first time we had played a show with this line up for the band so it felt a great way to start the show.
